Where to Eat

The Merchant City area of Glasgow has no shortage of great places to eat. Read below for some options.

Closest to the venue

Within a very short distance of the Boardwalk, there's a whole range of options for different kinds of goodies.

  • Bacchus Bar – very reasonably priced pub-food.

  • Brewdog – standard pub fare in large portions with drinks a-plenty.

  • Cranberry's -- a little cafe on the corner right near the Boardwalk, with lots of breakfast, brunch, and lunch options.

  • Dakhin – South Indian restaurant. Varied menu with a lot of choices and reasonable prices, but a little steeper than some of the other places nearby.

  • Gallery Bar -- A super welcoming gay bar and lounge with pub grub and cocktails, literally 5 steps from the entrance of the Boardwalk.

  • Green Gates Café – an Indian restaurant with nice prices and the option of tapas available for sharing meals.

  • Mharsanta – a restaurant specialising in local and Scots food. A little higher on the price range, but quality food and presentation.

  • Momo Hub Mother Nepal – Nepalese restaurant with very reasonable prices especially on their set lunch menus.

  • Nonna Said... – a Pizza restaurant.

  • O’Neills – bet you can’t guess why I included this one! Irish pub with good range of pub food and deals for food and drink together.

  • Rab Ha’s – a gastropub with a slightly fancier range of pub food. They also have rooms if you want to stay over the pub.

  • SiSi Rooftop -- a Mexican restaurant on the roof of the Social Hub, with a great-looking menu.

  • Table 28 – Classed as a ‘modern European’ restaurant, it has a decent selection on the menu with 2-course meals for £20.

  • The Absent Ear – a van Gogh themed hidden speakeasy for those who want to go looking. Not sure if they do food because they’re very elusive.

  • The Amsterdam – another of the pub food places.

  • The Spiritualist – a cocktail bar and restaurant with a dessert called Pornstar Cheesecake.

  • Turkiye – A lovely little Turkish restaurant.

  • Wilson Street Pantry – a hipster café which looks very chill.
