The Schedule in a Nutshell
Our rough schedule for the Wee Con 2026 currently looks like this:
Friday, 6th November:
Site opens no later than 1 PM for registration and socializing
Opening Ceremony at 3 PM
Panels, activities, and random fun (including a Quiz and some karaoke!) until 10 PM (with a break for dinner)
Saturday, 7th November
Activities from 10 AM to 10 PM, including panels, workshops, socializing time, crafts, Calypso's Market, and some special surprises. Oh, and meal breaks!
Sunday, 8th November:
Activities from 10 AM to 5 PM, including panels, workshops, socializing time, crafts, Calypso's Market, and a fan showcase. And meal breaks!
Closing ceremony at 5 PM
Two Acts of Drag, Please at 6 PM, with a party to follow until 9:30 PM
(Any afterparty, including at the Gallery Cafe right outside, is on your own, and the management disclaims all responsibility for further piratical mayhem)
Like 2025, we're aiming for a mix of panels, workshops, and other activities both inside and outside the venue. And we'll have plenty of down time for gathering and mingling and crafting.
Thanks so much for your feedback on what you enjoyed and your ideas for making Wee Con even better. (For example, yes: we will make sure to have meal breaks on all days!)
Panels
Panels will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We are planning on three types of panels:
Regular Panels: 45 minutes max, any topic
ED Talks/NED Talks: shorter talks, about 15-20 minutes max. ED Talks are for any subject, while NED Talks are for things that are NSFW or not for the faint of heart!
Little Bits: 5 minutes max. Want to hear somebody infodump about the role of citrus in the economy of Barbados in the early 1700's? This is the place for you!
All panels will be streamed to online attendees.
Panel idea submissions at this point are closed. Thanks to everyone who submitted your amazing ideas!
Workshops
Workshops will take place Saturday and Sunday. We will have two types of workshops:
Workshops open to everybody (including online attendees).
No signup is required for these.
Workshops with limited attendance (in-person attendees only).
These will be happening both afternoons. To make it fair, we'll be taking signups for these via lottery, opening a few days before the event - more on this to come.

The Podfic Showcase
During the Wee Con, we want to showcase the work of podficcers! But for that, we need you to submit 1 or 2 snippets of a podfic you're proud of!
boy (happydaiz) will take all the snippets and edit them together into one long audiofile of ± 30 minutes. The audiofile will be available to the attendees of the Wee Con, including our online attendees, until the 15th of November. Due to our tight schedule, we won't play the audiofile at the con, but everyone will be able to enjoy the audio at their own convenience.
Some rules:
Your deadline for submission is 15th of October.
You can submit 1 or 2 snippets (depending on the amount of submissions and the time, we'll include both).
Snippets can be 2-3 minutes long.
Please include an introduction at the start of each snippet along the lines of "Hi, I'm [Name] and this is a scene from [Fic Title] written by [Fic Author]" so everyone listening knows who they're listening to.

Raffle
Once again, we will be running a raffle at The Wee Con, raising funds for good causes! We will be selecting from local Glasgow charities this year, given our location.
Here are the guidelines if you want to donate to the raffle:
Each person can donate two items only – they can be two different items or variations of the same item
Nothing edible/perishable
Fics/podfics/art commissions are welcome
You'll be asked for a description of your items on the submission form
A photograph (or description card for digital items like fics etc) must be provided 2 weeks before the event
Depending on the number of raffle submissions, prizes may be individual or bundled like last year, and there will be designated raffle sales times.
For online attendees, while you can’t buy tickets directly, you may use a proxy who is attending in person, though the Wee Con crew are not responsible for your proxy getting your prize to you. You can also contact one of our mods if you can’t find a proxy.

Right.
Apparently the Captain has decided that watching people make complete fools of themselves now qualifies as entertainment.
As a result, five volunteers will be presented with a series of tasks of varying complexity, dignity, and common sense. Your efforts will be observed, scrutinised, and ultimately judged by Captain Blackbeard, who will score you based on whatever whim has most recently seized him. I'll be ensuring the rules are followed, explaining the tasks, and attempting to maintain some semblance of order.
You don't need any particular talents. In fact, experience suggests they may be a hindrance. You just need to commit to whatever ridiculous situation you've willingly signed yourself up for in front of your crewmates.
Don't blame me if you lose a toe. You may, however, gain a trophy handcrafted by the Captain himself. Lucky you.
If you'd like to take part, complete the form below by the end of September 30th. Read everything carefully. All the information is on the task. Don't make me repeat myself.
