Panels
Panels will take place Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All panels will be streamed to online attendees.

Ed Talks
These are shorter presentations (15-20 minutes). We will have two sessions of these, one on Friday and one on Saturday (which panel will be when is TBD).
The David Jenkins School of Cloud Reading by LibRoseITM
A totally unnecessary study into whether or not Ed could have predicted the fog that helped the revenge escape the Spanish.

The Unhinged Historians' Guide to Famous Fuckeries of History by Rattie/Ellen
Ed may be a master of the Art of Fuckery, but he's not the only one! This will be a a brief and unhinged survey of various "fuckeries" - tricks, confidence scams, etc. - documented throughout history.
Content warnings: None (discusses various crimes but nothing above PG-13 level)
Pirates and Food by Liz
A discussion of what pirates ate at sea, what food is used in the show, and how this effected the health of pirates.

Regular Panels
These are full-length (45 minute) panels. We will have these on Saturday and Sunday.
(NED Talk) Stab Me: A Beginners Guide to Trauma 2 - Not Stabbing by Annaline
A follow-up to the popular Stab Me panel at TWC 2025, this will cover other kinds of trauma in OFMD that isn't related to stabbing - head injuries, blunt force trauma, and amputation if there is time.

Possible Birds: The Ornithology of Our Flag Means Death by moderatecitrus
This panel will look at the birds of OFMD and their cultural and symbolic meanings, mostly focused on the gulls and the 'impossible bird'.

Massaged to Death by Mermaids: Merfolk of the World and LGBTQIA+ Representation by Elizabeth
This panel will discuss merfolk lore from around the world, starting with ones mentioned in OFMD (Mami Wata, Calypso) and then ones that can be read as affirming different identities (e.g. nonbinary, lesbian, ace).
Content warnings: Dealt with sensitively, but there are mentions of: castration, attitudes towards genitals, death, suicide, suicidal ideation, colonial violence, and erasure. No NSFW imagery.
How the Sausage Gets Made: Running Fandom Events hosted by Obliquity
In this panel, we'll cover the ins and outs of how different events in our fandom (including Wee Con) come to exist, from initial ideas to unexpected challenges to best practices.

Little Bits/Infodump Fun Times
These are short talks - 5 minutes or so - that are a chance to infodump about a subject related to OFMD that is near and dear to your heart! We will have these on Sunday afternoon, so if something occurs to you during the weekend that you would like to share, we will have some additional signups. (More on this later.)

Workshops
Workshops will take place Saturday and Sunday. We will have two types of workshops: open workshops and limited workshops.

Open workshops are open to everybody at the con, including online attendees. No special signup is required.

Limited Workshops
Limited workshops have limited attendance, and will only be open to in-person attendees. To make it fair, we'll be taking signups for these via lottery, opening a few days before the event (we'll give more details closer to the con).

Pirate Speed Meeting
Want to meet some new friends in a quick, fun, and low-stress way? Pirate Speed Meeting is your answer!
In a Speed Meeting, you introduce yourself to people using a set of questions and answers that we'll provide. No need to come up with small talk topics - we provide them for you.
We'll hold this on Friday, right after the opening ceremonies. Here's how it will work:
Speed Meeting will go in rounds (3-4 minutes each)
Each round, you will be paired with a person you don't yet know (or you can catch up with an old friend, that's fine)
At the start of the round, we'll give you a fun OFMD-related question (like "what is your favorite character?" or "who would you most/least like to be trapped in a dinghy with?")
You'll tell your partner three things: your name, where you're from, and your answer to the question
At the end of the round, we'll ring a bell, everybody swaps partners, and we read out a new question
We'll keep going until we run out of of time or everybody has had enough
We'll do separate sessions for in-person and online folks. In-person attendees will chat with each other at tables, while online attendees will be paired up via Zoom.
Speed Meeting is completely optional, but we hope you'll give it a go. (If you want to take a break for a round or two, or step away, that's absolutely fine!)
Fan Creation Showcase
If you want to submit something digital for our slideshow, use this form:
Thanks to a great suggestion from an attendee last year, we will be having a Fan Creation Showcase on Sunday! This is for all attendees to show off the spiffy things you have made and done, and bask in the oohs and aahs of your fellow fans.
In-person, we'll have tables and display space so you can set out your creations (you can stand with them and talk about them, but you don't have to). And you can send in digital files as well and they will be added to a slideshow.
If you're interested in showing off your arts, crafts and chaos, the forms are linked below - they include the whys and wherefores and a few of the guidelines that are in place.

Podfic Showcase
During the Wee Con, we want to showcase the work of podficcers! But for that, we need you to submit 1 or 2 snippets of a podfic you're proud of!
boy (happydaiz) will take all the snippets and edit them together into one long audiofile of ± 30 minutes. The audiofile will be available to the attendees of the Wee Con, including our online attendees, until the 15th of November. Due to our tight schedule, we won't play the audiofile at the con, but everyone will be able to enjoy the audio at their own convenience.
Some rules:
Your deadline for submission is 15th of October.
You can submit 1 or 2 snippets (depending on the amount of submissions and the time, we'll include both).
Snippets can be 2-3 minutes long.
Please include an introduction at the start of each snippet along the lines of "Hi, I'm [Name] and this is a scene from [Fic Title] written by [Fic Author]" so everyone listening knows who they're listening to.

Raffle
Once again, we will be running a raffle at The Wee Con, raising funds for good causes! We will be selecting from local Glasgow charities this year, given our location.
Here are the guidelines if you want to donate to the raffle:
Each person can donate two items only – they can be two different items or variations of the same item
Nothing edible/perishable
Fics/podfics/art commissions are welcome
You'll be asked for a description of your items on the submission form
A photograph (or description card for digital items like fics etc) must be provided 2 weeks before the event
Depending on the number of raffle submissions, prizes may be individual or bundled like last year, and there will be designated raffle sales times.
For online attendees, while you can’t buy tickets directly, you may use a proxy who is attending in person, though the Wee Con crew are not responsible for your proxy getting your prize to you. You can also contact one of our mods if you can’t find a proxy.

Right.
Apparently the Captain has decided that watching people make complete fools of themselves now qualifies as entertainment.
As a result, five volunteers will be presented with a series of tasks of varying complexity, dignity, and common sense. Your efforts will be observed, scrutinised, and ultimately judged by Captain Blackbeard, who will score you based on whatever whim has most recently seized him. I'll be ensuring the rules are followed, explaining the tasks, and attempting to maintain some semblance of order.
You don't need any particular talents. In fact, experience suggests they may be a hindrance. You just need to commit to whatever ridiculous situation you've willingly signed yourself up for in front of your crewmates.
Don't blame me if you lose a toe. You may, however, gain a trophy handcrafted by the Captain himself. Lucky you.

The Blanket Fort
Every proper OFMD event needs a blanket fort for any pirates that need some quiet time. We'll be using one of the theater dressing rooms as a quiet space to catch your breath or decompress at any time during the weekend.

Last year, a bunch of you helped out to make the first Wee Con a success, and we are enormously grateful (we seriously couldn’t have done it without you). For Wee Con 2026, we also could use some help in different ways, from helping us decorate (and undecorate) the space to helping other attendees have a great time.
