2026 Venue: The Boardwalk Glasgow
Our new venue for the Wee Con 2026 is The Boardwalk.
The Boardwalk is a creative, vibrant and accessible(!) events venue in the heart of Merchant City. It's a social enterprise run by Scottish community arts charity Impact Arts, which offers a range of creative programmes for people of all ages facing disadvantages or barriers in Central Scotland. All proceeds from bookings at The Boardwalk (including ours) will go towards the charity's efforts.
While the Boardwalk is located within a historic building, it has been fully renovated to be physically accessible. All gathering rooms are on the ground floor, with modern lift access (no key required!) from the step-free entry level on the first floor. There are several accessible bathrooms as well as gender-neutral toilets. Check out their accessibility guide for a very complete overview of the site (and seriously, a gold standard for what an accessibility guide should look like!)
For Wee Con, we have reserved the following rooms for our exclusive use so far:
The main 120-seat Brian Cox Studio Theater, where most of the action happens (panels, larger crafting sessions, cosplay showcase, drag and more).
The Theater foyer, which is the perfect place to set up Calypso's Floating Market and also hold our fan showcase.
The cozy Green Room, which will be our Blanket Fort/quiet space for those that need a little break.
We will also have access to the Main Foyer, a light, art-filled space with plenty of chairs and tables and nooks for people to gather in small groups. And as we continue to Tetris all of our exciting activities into the schedule, we may reserve some other rooms for dedicated workshop spaces!
The Boardwalk is proudly queer-friendly, and is surrounded by multiple gay and queer bars and clubs - including the Gallery Bar right outside the Boardwalk entrance! Keep your eyes open for the random unicorns in the vicinity.
Some quick links to more information at the bottom of the page:

The Boardwalk entrance off of Brunswick Street (arrow not to scale).
The Main Lobby, with plenty of places to sit and relax. The staircase and (modern!) lift connect to the main entrance on the upper level. The arrow points to the theater area, which is a separated space reserved just for us.
The Theater, our main gathering space. Instead of theater seats, we'll set up large round tables so people can socialize, chat, and do crafts while enjoying panels and presentations.
The Theater Foyer, reserved just for us. This will be the location of check-in, Calypso's Market, and a few other activities!

The Green Room, which will be our quiet Blanket Fort space for those that need a little break. We'll bring all the comfy pillows and blankets!

Lodging
Unlike our previous venue (Social Hub), the Boardwalk doesn't have lodging on site. However, there are numerous excellent options in a very short distance of the venue.
Click the button below to see our list of options (and if you know of one we should add, let us know!)
Food and Drink
The Boardwalk doesn't have a cafe on site, but we're putting together a list of options in the local area, of which there are many. We'll leave plenty of time for meals, and Wee Con attendees are welcome to bring in their own lunches.
