Where to Stay

Edinburgh has a cornucopia of hotels and guest houses. Our venue location is both very good (easily accessible, near transport links and restaurants) and also unfortunately very near the most Tourist Trap Historical areas of the city.

When you look for lodging options, remember that the venue is the Pleasance Courtyard (60 Pleasance, Edinburgh EH8 9TJ).

Don’t be alarmed by the prices that immediately pop up for places to stay, especially if you look close to the venue. That is tourist-bait.

For decent accommodation on a budget, my recommendation would be to look into the smaller bed and breakfasts, especially from South Clerk Street down to Cameron Toll.

Every red dot on this map is a B&B and those without prices showing are not on booking.com or hotels.com, which means they sometimes have lower prices than those websites:

Most of these B&Bs include a full breakfast in their prices with rooms available for as little as £65 per night per room with doubles, twins and family rooms all available. To get to the venue from here is about 5 minutes on a bus (to Surgeons Hall bus stop) or 20 minutes on foot.

There are also plenty of the big basic chain hotels in and around the city for people who want a familiar space: Travelodge, Premier Inn, Ibis, Easyhotel. The closest ones to the venue are Travelodge Edinburgh Central at the foot of the Pleasance, the Premier Inn Royal Mile just behind the train station and the Ibis on South Bridge.
